Bremerton Homers the Feature in 11-4 Win
VICTORIA - Bremerton's slugging Bluejackets pounded out an 11-4 decision over the Victoria Athletics behind the 14 strikeout hurling of big John Marshall.
Southpaw Ray Fortier made his first home appearance for the Victorians and ran into difficulties in the third and seventh innings when he fed home run pitches to Bill Reese and Joe Gedzius, each time with two runners aboard. The circuit clouts were the features of four-run rallies in each case.
Victoria chalked up three runs off the curveballing Marshall in the fourth on singles by Bill White, Johnny Cavalli and Jim Fontaine, a walk and a fielder's choice.
Bill Anake, Victoria's new catcher, checked in during the game but did not see action.
