Spokane Takes Lead in WIL
BREMERTON, Aug. 17 - Spokane's Indians, completely ignoring Bremerton's jinx on visiting teans, swept a twin-bill from the Bluejackets, 6-1 and 3-2 in ten innings, today, in the ever-tightening Western International League chase.
Spokane even took the jinx over to its own side - breaking up the tenth inning second game with Bill Dunn's ground ball that hit the third base sack and soared into left field oover the head of third baseman Jim Estrada, with George Schmees scoring from second.Spokane won the first game on Bill Werbowski's five-hit pitching.
