Caps Shut Out Chiefs
WENATCHEE, April 29 — A 13-hit Vancouver barrage coupled with five Wenatchee misplays afield gave the Vancouver Capilanos a 5-0 shutout victory over the Wenatchee Chiefs in the first of a two-game Western International League series here tonight. The series ends tomorrow. The Monday game was rained out and will be made up later in the season.
Four of the Caps runs were unearned. Vancouver picked up two runs on a pair of Chiefs errors and Lee Mohr's single in the third. They added another in the fifth on two hits and an error. The fourth came when Charlie Mead doubled and scored on an error. The last was produced from there singles.
Bob Snyder struck out 13 Chiefs but walked four.

Errors Beat Athletics
SALEM, April 29 — Salem's Senators, seeking vengeance for the series loss at Victoria last week, trimmed the Victoria Athletics, 8-4, here tonight, in the opening tilt of their current arrangement.
The Solons built up a lead of 5-0 on the visitors while southpaw Kenny Wyatt was twirling perfect baseball — no runs, no hits, no walks — for six and one-third innings until the A's got to him in that same sixth. Jack Harshman broke the spell with a double, and Wyatt subsequently gave up two walks to fill the bags which set the stage for Babe Jensen's long triple against the left-field boards. Jensen also knocked in the final Victoria tally in the ninth with a single.
