A's Draw 13,541 in First Series
Victoria continues as one of the best cities in the Western International League. Despite several cool night, the Athletics drew a total of 13,541 fans in their first home stand which terminated on Saturday and which included three games with the Yakima Stars and four with the Salem Senators.
This figure exceeded the attendance for any home series last season and included a record crowd of 5,309 paid for opening night.
Changes in the roster of the Athletics also continued with two pitchers being sent to class C clubs. Southpaw Les Palmer was optioned to Twin Falls of the Pioneer League with righthander John Wilkinson going to Ventura in the California State League.
